I received my associate's degree in business administration from Niagara County Community College, followed by a bachelor's in business administration from Valparaiso University and a master's in insurance and finance from The American College.

Over the years, I've been fortunate to achieve some exciting milestones, including completing 39 half marathons and one full marathon. I'm a former 3-time World Karting Champion (1984-1986) and have spent the past 22 years as an official with IndyCar.

I'm in the Niagara County Community College Wrestling Hall of Fame and was Co-Captain of the Valparaiso University Wrestling team in 1976-77.

Just a couple weeks ago, my Alma mater, Niagara, won the 2026 National Junior College Wrestling Championship in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Our long time Hall of Fame coach Eric Knuutila passed away on Thursday while with the team in Iowa. He was still coaching and smiling from heaven on Sunday as the team won the tournament in dramatic fashion - last match and team score 1/2 point ahead of runner-up Harper Junior College of Illinois. Coach K was Coach K before the other Coach K. He started the program in 1973 and I was one of his first recruits. RIP Coach K - you were my inspiration as coach. leader, mentor and Christ follower.

Especially during summer, I enjoy spending time outdoors and being active. Beyond work, I enjoy pickleball, running, golf, fishing, and traveling. My wife and I have been happily married for 41 years.

We are proud parents of two daughters. Our daughters inherited our competitive nature and were national collegiate swimming champions during their years at Ohio State. While excelling athletically, they both graduated with a 4.0 academic average.

Our family continues to grow, and we cherish every moment spent with our daughters, their husbands, and our three grandchildren. We love to go on adventures together and make the most of every season.

My most interesting and rewarding story: In 1981, I was injured in a racing accident. While at the hospital I met one of the ER nurses named Linda. In 1984, she became Mrs. Aton. And the rest is history!
